Installation and equipment
What do we need to arrange before installation? +

In the practice, a location with a minimum examination distance of 3 metres and an accessible electrical outlet within 5 metres of the installation site must be selected. The device can be installed on a wall or ceiling.

What if I am unsure how to select the correct placement for OptoSmart One? +

In that case, our trained technician will assist you. They can conduct an initial consultation via video call or by visiting the site in person. Please contact us and we will arrange an appointment.

How is the device installation carried out? +

Installation and calibration are performed exclusively by our authorised service technician, who will also complete the configuration and provide user training. The warranty period commences from the date of installation.

Standards and certification
Does OptoSmart One comply with optotype standards? +

OptoSmart One is the only optotype intended for general practitioners for both paediatric and adult patients that meets all visual acuity examination standards applicable to ophthalmologists as well – including ČSN EN ISO 8596 for fitness-to-drive assessments. It is certified as a Class I medical device in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/745 (MDR).

What happens if standards change? +

During the warranty period (2 years from installation), mandatory updates are provided free of charge. After the warranty period expires, a service fee is charged to cover the costs of the technician’s intervention. Customers are notified of important changes and new legislative requirements via their registered email address.

What is the service life of the OptoSmart One optotype? +

OptoSmart One was designed from the outset as a maintenance-free device with a long service life. The components we use are proven in healthcare settings and ensure minimal failure rates. Even after the warranty period, we are able to provide prompt repairs at minimal cost.

How do you handle warranty claims? +

Although OptoSmart One is virtually trouble-free, it is an electronic device and minor issues can occasionally arise. In such cases, our technician will typically attend within the next business day and resolve the issue on-site. In most cases, however, the anticipated fault is resolved by telephone.

How long might a repair take? +

The device is designed with a modular architecture, so all faults can be rectified on-site. During a visit, the technician can replace any component within a maximum of one hour, including reconfiguration and calibration. The warranty period is extended by the duration of the repair.

What is the warranty period? +

We provide a 24-month warranty for the OptoSmart One device, commencing from the date of installation by an authorised technician. Under warranty, we provide free-of-charge repairs and replacement of defective parts. After the warranty period, we offer service contracts.

Software and updates
How will I be informed about new updates? +

In the event of important changes and new legislative requirements, we send notifications to customers at their registered email address.

What functions does the remote control provide? +

The OptoSmart One remote control enables:

  • Sleep countdown – rapid system standby within 10 seconds of setting down the remote control
  • Sloan test – instant switching to the letter and digit test without navigating through the menu
  • Pflüger E-hooks – instant switching to this test
  • LEA test – instant switching to the paediatric test
  • Colour vision – instant switching to the colour vision test
  • Size change – adjustment of optotype size in logarithmic visual acuity values (0.1–2)
  • Optotype change – switching between optotype sets for each visual acuity value
  • Row / column masking – display of a single row or column (including individual optotypes)
  • Mouse lock – disabling/enabling touchscreen control on the monitor
  • Hint – display of hidden symbols in colour vision charts
  • Home menu – return to the main screen
  • Hearing examination – unique supplementary function
